In A Small And Obscure European Town, Women Ruled. All Of The Little Boys Studied At A Special School Overseen By Catholic Nuns, Who Ensured That The Boys Grew Up To Be The Sort Of Men Who Could Show The Proper Respect And Courtesy To Their Eventual Spouses.
Hmmm, I went to Montessori School through 1st grade, and I don't remember this happening there .. and trust me, I think I would remember something like that. They did hit me with a ruler quite a bit, and ever since, I've had a thing for dominatrix penguins!

I realize people will not believe this but...I went to Catholic school in the late 50's and early 60's. We had a nun who practiced what we would call "petticoat discipline." Baby bonnets, hair bows, occasionally nail polish and, for serious offenses, she kept several dresses in the cloak closet. Boys who did not know how to behave as proper young gentleman spent the day in a dress and sat with the girls.
